The House is truly being built.

I keep saying this, typing it, exclaiming. I think partially in recognition and partially as a declaration meant to keep feeding itself. I have believed for a long time (and found success with this mode of operation) that words are containers. In a mundane way we all already know this: the word “car” is not just descriptive of a car but contains, for the individual, a number of connecting ideas, images, desires, feelings, expectations. Car is a container. The letter “c,” itself is a container. Letters are symbols representing sound, communication, record keeping. Songs with no words contain multitudes of emotion and memory, scents do the same. Words are some of our most tangible symbolic containers. Breathing, vocalizing, and writing are the foundation of bringing something to life. (I would argue that Vision is a foundational concept as well, you must be able to conceive of or conceptualize what it is you want to bring to life.)

Something I mention on and off is playing the long game. The “long game” is something akin in my mind to choosing the war over the battle, knowing you won’t win every round but every move you make is counting toward a larger thing. Life is a game of strategy. For me “long game,” has become its own container. Simply speaking or thinking the phrase is a moment backed by steel, is an anchor and a reminder. “Steadfast,” is another, from 2019 or 2020. It was an angelic warning and has now evolved into an anchor as well. Sometimes personal prayers are not overtly prayers at all, but something discreet and making sense only to you. “The House is being built,” is not my first self feeding container, rather it is on the younger end as a work, but ancestor works supporting it are years established. The language I use helps frame my mindset as well as my work, there has to be care in the weaving of it.
